Anna University Regional Campus - Tirunelveli is serving as a hub for Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, Chennai since May 2017.Anna University Tirunelveli region comprises of the four sourther district of Tamilnadu namely Tirunelveli,Thoothukudi,Kanyakumari and Virudhunagar.There are about one lakh students studying in 75 Engineering Colleges located in this region.A number of programmes have been organized for improving the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the students in the region.

Anna University Regional Campus – Tirunelveli along with EDII-TN is promoting Entrepreneurial and Innovation eco system in Universities/Colleges/Polytechnics/it is through Academic Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (AIEDP)

Objective of the Program are as follows

  • To build capacity of the college Management and faculty to support and sustain Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • To create and build an Entrepreneurial and Innovation Ecosystem with effective Partnerships
  • To initiate and sustain Entrepreneurship competency Development Process
  • To catalyze and support product and process innovation within campus
  • To create and support Entrepreneurs within campus and in the community around

  • AURCT-IEDP Hub along with EDII-TN organizes Top Management Meets to sensitize college managements about the importance of entrepreneurship, establishing E-cells, encouraging the students to participate in entrepreneurship curriculum course and other entrepreneurship related activities. EDII-TN has also entered into a MoU with the Tamil Nadu Open University to launch a 6-month certificate course on entrepreneurship. The course will be launched shortly. EDII-TN will reimburse the course fee for the student E-cell members of your institution, who completes the course successfully. EDII-TN will also train student representatives to run the E-Cell successfully and organize various entrepreneurial activities.

    To handhold students to develop their innovative ideas into prototype and commercialise the ideas, EDII-TN is organizing the Tamil Nadu Student Innovators programme. You may encourage such students to participate in the programme. If your institution has already established or is interested in establishing business /technology business incubator, EDII-TN will facilitate training to your personnel to run the incubator successfully.     Various other programmes will also be organized through the hub for the benefit of faculty and students interested in entrepreneurship. The State will bear almost the entire cost of such programmes.
